Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with skill and compassion
• Assess and monitor hemodynamics, ventilator settings, and complex medication regimens
• Administer medications and perform advanced nursing interventions per unit protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
• Perform focused neurological assessments using NIHSS when indicated
• Document patient status, interventions, and changes accurately in Meditech EMR
• Mentor and support colleagues when floating to Stepdown/MICU/DOU to ensure continuity of care
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in code and rapid response events

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys registration/compliance required)
• Minimum 1+ years acute care/critical care nursing experience (ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications preferred/required per unit
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Comfort and experience working 12-hour night shifts and floating between critical care units
• Able to pass drug screen, TB testing, fit testing and required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care and ICU clinical judgment
• Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Skilled in ACLS protocols, advanced cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity environments
• Ability to prioritize care and remain calm under pressure
• Competency with prime pharmacology, core competencies, and specialty skills checklists
