Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with a friendly, professional demeanor and ensure a smooth check-in
• Collect and record vital signs accurately and consistently
• Prepare exam rooms and assist clinicians with ambulatory procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR and ensure chart readiness
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as specimen collection and point-of-care testing
• Communicate clearly with patients about next steps, follow-up appointments, and instructions
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy standards to protect patients and staff
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certification such as CMA or RMA preferred but not always required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
• Prior ambulatory or clinic Medical Assistant experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and required onboarding/orientation

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience taking vital signs, performing basic clinical tasks, and assisting in exams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer skills
• Good phlebotomy or specimen collection technique is beneficial
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction and teamwork
• Knowledge of infection control and clinical safety practices
