Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide compassionate bedside care and monitor resident comfort throughout the shift
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Document care provided clearly and communicate effectively with the care team
- Engage residents with dignity and respect, promoting independence when possible
Qualifications
- Certified GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working night shifts and with geriatric/rehab populations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Reliable, punctual, and able to handle physical aspects of patient care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and basic geriatric care best practices
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Compassionate patient interaction and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize during busy shifts
