Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions and assist patients with mobility, gait training, and restorative exercises
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Physical Therapist
- Monitor, measure and accurately document patient progress and outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety and fall prevention
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and care teams to optimize patient-centered care
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, documentation standards, and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Maryland (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current CPR/BLS certification (facility requirement may vary)
- Prior PTA experience preferred; enthusiastic new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Associate degree or graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and therapeutic exercise techniques
- Gait training, transfers, positioning and mobility assistance
- Clinical documentation and electronic medical record proficiency
- Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
- Time management, prioritization and teamwork in a clinical setting
