Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Provide direct bedside care in the Emergency Department and telemetry settings
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching to support recovery and understanding
• Supervise and coordinate activities of other nursing personnel to maintain excellent standards of care
• Communicate promptly with physicians regarding changes in clinical condition, diagnostic results and patient symptoms
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and responses to treatment
• Adhere to EMTALA regulations and appropriately report suspected child or adult abuse
• Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Nursys verification listed)
• Current PALS, ACLS and BLS certifications required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing and telemetry care preferred
• Familiarity with EMTALA and reporting requirements for child/adult abuse
• Ability to complete required pre-employment screenings (drug screen, fit test, TB/MMR/Immunizations and physical/health statement)
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with physicians and care teams

• Patient and family education delivered with compassion and clarity
• Effective communication with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Reporting procedures for child and adult abuse
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Core clinical competencies and skills checklist proficiency
• Infection control practices and fit testing experience
