Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a busy Med-Surg/Trauma/Ortho/Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, respond to dysrhythmias and escalate appropriately
• Perform and document wound care and wound vac changes with attention to detail
• Insert IVs and indwelling Foley catheters safely and per protocol
• Manage PCA pumps, chest tubes, BiPAP and epidurals following unit policies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to prioritize and coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and follow unit policies and procedures
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and participating in shift handoffs

Qualifications

• Active Nursing License (state licensure required; travel assignments may require compact or state-specific licensure)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, IV insertions, wound care, chest tube and PCA management
• Able to float to assigned units and work every-other-weekend schedule
• Strong teamwork, prioritization and critical thinking skills

• Med-Surg nursing best practices
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• IV insertion and vascular access skills
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Chest tube care and epidural monitoring
• PCA pump setup and troubleshooting
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and think critically under pressure
• Comfortable using hospital EMR systems and following unit policies
