Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Neuro Stepdown (SDU) unit
Monitor neurological status and intervene promptly for changes in patient condition
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and follow care plans
Perform thorough assessments, document clinical findings, and communicate changes effectively
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain)
Experience or strong interest in Neuro Stepdown / SDU nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of neurological assessment and common neurosurgical/neurological conditions
Skill in telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
