Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in a timely manner
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the care team
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the chart
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to optimize outcomes
• Provide patient and family education to promote recovery and discharge readiness
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Louisiana
• Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing
• Comfort and ability to work 12-hour shifts, including possible night rotations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Prioritization and time management on a busy Med/Surg unit
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient education
