Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care as the primary caregiver
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Perform rapid triage and ongoing reassessment for emergency patients
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leadership and the care team to optimize outcomes
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity and safety
• Respond effectively to codes and critical events, applying ACLS/PALS/NRP protocols as needed
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department or critical access nursing experience with EPIC
• ACLS, PALS and NRP required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
• NIHSS, EKG course and CPI (Code Violet) required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
• Strong clinical assessment, triage and emergency intervention skills
• Ability to work 3x12s including every 3rd weekend and one holiday per schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing best practices and triage principles
• Direct patient care including rapid assessment and stabilization
• EPIC electronic health record proficiency
• Care plan development and multidisciplinary teamwork
• EKG interpretation and familiarity with stroke assessment (NIHSS)
• Crisis management and de-escalation techniques (CPI/Code Violet)
