Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department
• Rapidly assess, triage and initiate treatment for patients with acute and urgent needs
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses and document interventions accurately
• Perform emergency procedures and assist with resuscitations as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care
• Maintain a safe, compassionate environment and adhere to infection control and facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (RN); ability to obtain Hawaii RN license if not already held
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained per facility policy
• Previous emergency department nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong ED interest may be considered)
• Excellent critical thinking, communication and team collaboration skills
• Ability to work 12+ hour clinical shifts in a high-acuity environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and rapid assessment skills
• Experience with emergency nursing workflows and priorities
• Comfort managing multiple high-acuity patients simultaneously
• Proficiency with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and basic emergency procedures
• Calm under pressure with strong situational awareness
