Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the acuity spectrum
• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients rapidly and accurately in a fast-paced ED environment
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and document care thoroughly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care in a clear and supportive way
• Maintain situational awareness and prioritize tasks during high-volume or high-acuity periods
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and support a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii or eligible for licensure
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS highly valued or preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in high-stress situations
• Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to changing patient needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• Familiarity with ED workflows, documentation, and common emergency interventions
• Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize care effectively
• Skilled in IV starts, medication administration, and wound care
• Comfortable using electronic health records and standard ED equipment
• Calm, decisive approach to critical situations and strong problem-solving mindset
