Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, and prioritization of care
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient flow
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
• Stabilize and prepare patients for admission, transfer, or discharge with attention to safety
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment in emergency settings
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitors
• Electronic health record charting and documentation best practices
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize multiple patients
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and family communication
