Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in the ED/ER
• Assess, triage and prioritize patient needs quickly and accurately
• Administer medications, treatments and procedures according to protocols and provider orders
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care
• Monitor patient status and intervene appropriately for changes in condition
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Hawaii or compact licensure as applicable)
• BLS required; ACLS and other ED-related certifications encouraged
• Previous ED/ER nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and triage skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete required background checks and health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Knowledge of ED protocols and acute care interventions
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to perform in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Strong clinical decision-making and prioritization
• Compassionate patient- and family-centered care approach
