Roles & Responsibilities

Dispense and verify medications accurately, ensuring patient safety and compliance with prescriptions.
Provide clear, compassionate medication counseling to patients and caregivers to support optimal outcomes.
Collaborate with clinicians and care teams to support medication therapy management and resolve medication-related issues.
Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure controlled substance protocols and recordkeeping are followed.
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to federal/state regulations, institutional policies, and best practices.

Qualifications

Current pharmacist license in Alaska or eligibility to obtain Alaska licensure prior to start.
Pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred) and active, good-standing license.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a clinical or community pharmacy setting.
Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams.

Education

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred; BS in Pharmacy acceptable where applicable. Must hold or be eligible for Alaska pharmacist licensure.

Knowledge & Skills

Medication dispensing and verification processes
Patient counseling and medication education
Pharmacy inventory and controlled substance management
Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records
Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations (HIPAA, DEA, state board rules)
