Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Continuously assess patient status, monitor vital signs and respond to changes promptly
Administer medications, manage IVs and support ventilator and hemodynamic management as needed
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and the family to create and execute care plans
Document patient care accurately and communicate handoffs clearly to the team
Participate in orientation, precepting and unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Active RN license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain licensure
Experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care (PICU) — recent PICU experience is a plus
Current BLS and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and emergency response skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

ADN required; BSN preferred (or equivalent nursing degree) — facility may specify educational preferences during interview

Knowledge & Skills

Critical care nursing principles and pediatric assessment
Familiarity with ventilator support and hemodynamic monitoring
Medication administration and IV/central line care
Family-centered care and strong communication with caregivers
Accurate clinical documentation and effective shift handoffs
Team collaboration and participation in multi-disciplinary care
