Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and response to therapy with skill and compassion
• Deliver respiratory treatments and manage ventilators according to physician orders and protocols
• Perform airway management, suctioning, and oxygen therapy safely and efficiently
• Document care accurately and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to develop and adjust care plans
• Support a positive patient experience by educating patients and families about respiratory care

Qualifications

• Active Washington state Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one
• CRT or RRT credential preferred or eligible
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred if applicable
• Comfort with ventilator management, airway management, and respiratory assessment
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to complete required orientation and credentialing processes

Education

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator setup, troubleshooting, and adjustments
• Strong patient assessment skills including ABG interpretation and pulmonary function basics
• Skilled in oxygen delivery devices, aerosol therapy, and airway suctioning
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control practices and safe handling of respiratory equipment
