Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, recognizing changes quickly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document timely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care
• Contribute to a safe environment by following infection control, safety, and documentation protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or eligibility for WA licensure
• Experience or strong interest in med/surg and pediatric nursing (unit experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification; PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize patient needs
• Comfort with electronic health record documentation and basic clinical technology

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric and med/surg nursing principles and best practices
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and clinical documentation
• Strong communication skills for interacting with children, families, and care teams
• Ability to perform clinical problem-solving and respond to changing patient conditions
• Familiarity with safety protocols, infection control, and pediatric dosing considerations
