Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
Assess patients, monitor status, and respond to changes in condition promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely, following established protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality improvement

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligible to obtain one
Experience or interest in Medical-Surgical nursing with Pediatric exposure
BLS required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain for pediatric practice
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Ability to complete required orientation and any facility onboarding checks

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of Med/Surg nursing best practices and pediatric care principles
Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and documentation
Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and communicating clearly
Familiarity with electronic health record systems and charting
Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver compassionate care
