Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 6-hour shift (specific start/end times and days to be provided) — MLT shift; orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests accurately and efficiently
Process and prepare specimens, ensuring correct labeling and chain-of-custody
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment according to protocols
Follow quality control and safety procedures to maintain a compliant lab environment
Document results clearly and communicate critical findings to the care team
Participate in orientation and training to stay current with lab practices

Qualifications

Active MLT certification or equivalent (e.g., ASCP MLT) preferred
State licensure if required by Missouri regulations
Familiarity with clinical laboratory practices and specimen handling
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Willingness to attend orientation as required

Education

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with routine hematology, chemistry, and microbiology testing
Specimen processing, centrifugation, and proper storage techniques
Understanding of quality control, calibration, and basic troubleshooting
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic documentation
Knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations and laboratory safety practices
