Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 5-hour shifts; exact start and end times vary and will be scheduled by the facility; orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instrumentation with careful attention to detail
Assist surgeons and surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments efficiently
Perform instrument counts and document perioperative activity accurately
Ensure patient safety and comfort by following pediatric-specific protocols and sterile technique
Maintain equipment, restock supplies, and help with room turnover to keep the OR running smoothly
Participate in orientation and team briefings to support consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience
Surgical technologist certification (CST) preferred
Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
Pediatric surgical experience a plus
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Must be professional, reliable, and committed to patient-centered care

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative procedures
Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR equipment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
Ability to adapt to pediatric-specific needs and family-centered care
