Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical/surgical unit
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes quickly and acting decisively
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following policy and safety standards
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Document patient care, assessments and interventions clearly in the health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge instructions
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Maintain a safe, clean and therapeutic environment for patients and visitors

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NH license or compact license as required by facility)
• Previous medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS encouraged or as required
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex patients and prioritize care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Patient education and family-centered care techniques
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
