Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic exams with attention to image quality and patient comfort
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment safely and accurately
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain appropriate shielding practices
• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient and imaging records
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support timely, high-quality patient care
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting issues promptly
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and clear communication during procedures

Qualifications

• Valid state Radiologic Technologist license (Louisiana licensure expected or ability to obtain)
• Certification from ARRT or equivalent credential preferred or required per facility policy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Previous experience as a radiologic technologist preferred; facility will confirm exact requirements
• Ability to work 8.5-hour shifts and adapt to facility scheduling needs
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to patient safety

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in radiographic positioning and technique
• Solid understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Competence operating X-ray/imaging equipment and recognizing image quality issues
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and imaging systems
• Good patient care, communication, and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and strong documentation practices
