Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to changes
Support patients through labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, timely care
Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and thoroughly
Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care and newborn basics

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; specialty certifications (e.g., NRP) preferred
Previous experience or strong interest in Labor & Delivery nursing preferred
Comfort and ability to work 12.5-hour clinical shifts
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of fetal monitoring and intrapartum assessment
Skilled in maternal/fetal physiologic assessment and labor support techniques
Ability to manage obstetric emergencies and escalate appropriately
Proficient documentation and care coordination in an acute-care setting
Patient/family education and culturally sensitive communication
