Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department
Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
Administer medications, start IVs and perform ED-specific procedures safely
Collaborate with physicians, techs and other care team members to coordinate treatment
Document patient care and clinical observations clearly and timely
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
Respond calmly and effectively in high-acuity and fast-paced situations

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license—NH license or Compact RN licensure preferred
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or available through employer
Experience working in Emergency Department (ED/ER) settings preferred
Ability to perform triage, IV starts and ED-specific assessments
Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background checks

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred when available per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings
Proficiency with electronic health records and clear clinical documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills under pressure
Comfort with ED equipment and emergency procedures
Time management and the ability to prioritize multiple patients
