Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care interventions for patients across the care continuum
• Administer and monitor therapeutic modalities including oxygen therapy and ventilator management
• Assess patient respiratory status and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as ABG sampling and pulmonary function testing as indicated
• Educate patients and families on respiratory disease management and prescribed therapies
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance respiratory care services

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT) required
• Active Louisiana state respiratory care license required or ability to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Experience working with ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred)
• Completion of an accredited respiratory care program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator management and respiratory monitoring
• Skilled in oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, and airway management
• Excellent clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
