Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert pediatric intensive care to critically ill children with compassion and clinical excellence
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans
• Monitor and manage advanced life support equipment and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with families, keeping them informed and involved in care decisions
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement efforts
• Participate in unit orientation and support onboarding of new staff members

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate) required
• Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care / PICU and critical care nursing
• Current BLS required; PALS and ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-acuity, team-based settings
• Excellent communication skills and a family-centered approach to care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in pediatric critical care assessment and monitoring
• Comfortable with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong medication administration and infusion pump competency
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond to emergent situations
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
