Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments, ensuring everything is sterile and ready for the team
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to deliver safe, efficient patient care
Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, advocating for patient safety and comfort
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, counts, and patient status
Assist with surgical procedures as a scrub or circulator, anticipating team needs and supporting outcomes
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to elevate care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Prior operating room experience preferred; new grads with perioperative training are welcome to apply
CNOR certification is a plus and will be viewed favorably
Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative protocols
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-stakes environments
Proficient in surgical instrumentation and OR workflow
Able to prioritize and multitask during dynamic surgical cases
Attention to detail for counts, documentation, and patient safety
