Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per Diem (varies; days as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening/PM shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor residents for changes in condition and report findings to nursing staff promptly
Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation using proper body mechanics
Assist with meal service, feeding, and ensuring residents' nutritional needs are met
Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
Promote a dignified, respectful environment that enhances resident comfort and quality of life

Qualifications

Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
Demonstrated experience in long-term care or working with elderly populations is a plus
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
Ability to safely assist with transfers, toileting, bathing, and grooming
Basic charting and documentation skills
Reliable time management and the ability to follow care plans
Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience when working with seniors
