Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate basic care to residents including bathing, grooming, and toileting
Measure and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the nursing team
Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote resident independence
Support mealtime assistance, feeding, and ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
Follow infection control standards and contribute to a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification in Connecticut (or eligible to obtain)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
Clear background check and any state-required licensing verifications
Demonstrated compassionate patient care and strong teamwork skills

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completed state-approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of resident personal care and ADLs (activities of daily living)
Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
Basic charting/documentation skills and ability to follow care plans
Dependability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
