Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients from pediatric to geriatric to create individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise programs to improve functional ability
• Administer physical agents and modalities including hydrotherapy, ultrasound, traction, and topical modalities
• Train and supervise aides, technicians, and assistants during treatment sessions
• Design home exercise programs and educate patients, families, and caregivers for post-discharge success
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and the rehab team during care planning and discharge
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in patient and departmental records
• Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure safe operation
• Adhere to infection-control policies and protect patient confidentiality at all times
• Develop staff through in-service training and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist License issued by the State of Colorado (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• Experience with patient assessment, treatment planning, and manual therapy techniques
• Comfort administering modalities such as hydrotherapy, ultrasound, traction, ultraviolet and infrared therapy
• Strong documentation/charting skills and familiarity with discharge planning
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Education

• State of Colorado Physical Therapist License (proof of required education for licensure)
• BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation methods for physical dysfunction
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work environment
• Skill in fitting and evaluating prosthetic/orthotic devices and recommending assistive equipment
• Capability to design curriculum and conduct in-service training
• Understanding of human behavior, learning and motivation to support patient education
• Proficiency in patient education and developing effective home exercise programs
