Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct patient care for MedSurg, Telemetry and PCU patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to rhythm changes and alarms
• Manage cardiac patients, including those who have undergone cardiac cath procedures
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately
• Document assessments, interventions and care plans in EPIC in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care and safe transitions
• Float efficiently between MedSurg Tele and Progressive Care Unit assignments, maintaining standards of care
• Maintain certifications and complete required competency exams and checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Rhode Island is a compact state; compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years recent MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience with cardiac patient exposure
• Demonstrated cardiac experience including care of post-cath and PCU cardiac patients
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications — ACLS must show prior use in previous positions (no provisional compliance)
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• DCI/BVP certification listed as preferred/required per posting
• Nursys report (within 30 days) and the ability to provide license/certification verification
• Ability to pass drug screen, fit test, required immunizations and other health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac patient management and post-cath care
• MedSurg nursing principles and progressive care workflows
• Proficiency with EPIC for charting and order management
• Strong assessment skills and clinical decision-making
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with Prime competency testing and specialty assessments
