Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management and ventilator support for patients across age groups
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators (PB 980, PB 840, V60) and transport vents (ParaPac)
• Perform thorough patient assessments and tailor respiratory care plans for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Document treatments and flows of care using computerized charting and Pyxis medication management
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the care team; respond effectively to emergencies including CPR
• Ensure safe patient transport including ventilator-supported transports and appropriate handoffs

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Active State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapist license required by start (applications-in-progress may be accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP preferred
• Current CPR certification and demonstrated experience with adult, pediatric and neonatal care
• Comfortable using ventilators (PB 980, PB 840, V60), ParaPac transport vents and computerized charting systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong airway management and ventilator management skills
• Experience with non-invasive ventilator strategies and transport ventilation
• Familiarity with PB 980, PB 840, V60 ventilators and ParaPac transport vents
• Proficient with computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication workflows
• Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking under pressure
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly during codes and consults
