Shift Type: Day shifts (rotating), 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM — rotating schedule including weekends (approximately 3 shifts per 4-week period) and holiday rotation; self-scheduling
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and continuously monitor neuro patients, detecting subtle changes in condition
- Perform and monitor EEGs and 24–48 hour trend EEGs for epilepsy evaluation
- Provide skilled MedSurg/Telemetry nursing care for neuro diagnoses including TBI, brain tumor, subdural hematoma and post-op spine patients
- Safely perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab competency required)
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control during procedures
- Recognize dysrhythmias and respond appropriately; pass dysrhythmia competency exam
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including RT, pharmacy, hospitalists/intensivists and IV SWAT for comprehensive care
- Document care accurately in Cerner and support unit flow with strong critical thinking
Qualifications
- Active RN with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Proven MedSurg/Telemetry experience; EEG monitoring experience highly desired
- Competent in dysrhythmia recognition (dysrhythmia exam must be passed; two attempts allowed)
- Comfortable with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; must pass SIMs Lab
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic health records
- Must have reliable personal vehicle for travel teams and follow facility appearance/fit-test guidelines (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men clean-shaven for fit test)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Neuro/neurological assessment and cranial nerve screening
- EEG monitoring and trend interpretation
- Sterile technique and procedural competency (Foley, central line care)
- Critical thinking with ability to detect small changes in patient condition
- IV insertion/management and familiarity with SWAT IV support
- Basic ventilator/BiPAP familiarity and collaboration with RT
- Wound care, lifts/restraints education and safe patient handling
- Strong documentation skills in Cerner
