Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Step-Down Unit
Monitor and assess patients' clinical status, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols and best practices
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
Document care accurately and timely in the medical record
Support patient and family education, ensuring understanding of condition and plan

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana licensure required or eligible
Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Experience or strong interest in step-down/telemetry care
Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to manage acutely ill patients
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with step-down unit workflows and telemetry monitoring
Strong assessment and patient monitoring abilities
Medication administration and IV care competency
Proficient documentation and time-management skills
Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
