Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support EHR and ancillary clinical system users across outpatient and inpatient settings using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and video conferencing methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content in partnership with medical staff to keep systems aligned with best practices
• Develop clear, user-friendly training materials and resources to boost clinician adoption and confidence
• Triage user issues, escalate to appropriate subject matter experts, and coordinate timely resolutions
• Continuously assess and improve clinical decision support and application content (labs, meds, immunizations, diagnosis/procedure codes)
• Evaluate and refine clinical processes across SEARHC clinics to improve quality and consistency
• Collaborate closely with IT, vendors, medical directors, coders, and clinical teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Support implementations and work outside regular hours when necessary to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (agency staff must have an active Alaska license; direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware/network work)
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for experience on a year-by-year basis
• Clinical informatics training and teaching experience preferred
• Experience with inpatient settings, accreditation processes, and HL7 messaging preferred
• Able to travel regionally (~10%) and lift/move up to 50 lbs

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for required experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with EHR and clinical information systems
• Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical standards of care, and decision support
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Understanding of HL7 messaging concepts
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and ability to prioritize
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites
• Comfort training diverse clinical audiences and creating engaging educational content
