Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients arriving to the Emergency Department with speed and compassion
• Stabilize and provide urgent interventions for acute medical and trauma cases
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient responses accurately
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Participate in ED teamwork, including rapid response and emergency protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Hawaii required prior to start)
• Experience or strong interest in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing
• Comfort working 12.5-hour acute care shifts in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing patient volumes

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment skills for emergency presentations
• Strong IV, medication administration, and monitoring skills
• Knowledge of emergency protocols and ability to respond in critical situations
• Clear documentation and handoff communication practices
• Calm under pressure with effective multitasking and prioritization
