Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for acute and urgent conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions safely
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to drive positive patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly in the medical record
• Respond decisively to high-acuity situations while maintaining calm and clear communication
• Educate patients and families about care plans, disposition, and follow-up needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable shortly after hire
• Experience or strong interest in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing; prior ED experience a plus
• Ability to safely perform 12.5-hour clinical shifts and work rotating schedules including weekends
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and fast-paced emergency assessment skills
• IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and accurate documentation
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and time management under pressure
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient/family education skills
