Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records
- Communicate clearly with nurses, families and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing or eligible for state certification
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing per facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and supporting resident mobility
- Basic clinical skills such as taking vitals and documenting care
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety principles
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
- Reliable time management and the ability to work as part of a care team
- Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills
