Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
- Assess patient condition, monitor vitals, and respond to changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document patient care and progress thoroughly in the medical record
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Louisiana or compact state privileges as applicable
- Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of Med/Surg patient care principles
- Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Skilled at patient and family education and discharge planning
