Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with ADLs like bathing, dressing, and grooming
Take and record vital signs accurately and alert the team to changes
Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
Communicate clearly with nurses and families to ensure continuity of care
Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control practices
Document care and observations thoroughly in facility records

Qualifications

Current CNA certification/license in Connecticut (required)
Current CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completed and current CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamentals of patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Basic vital sign measurement and recognition of abnormal findings
Infection control procedures and safe patient handling
Clear documentation and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
