Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, making every shift count
• Continuously monitor and interpret patient status, including hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications and titratable drips safely and per protocol
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced life support equipment
• Respond rapidly to clinical emergencies and participate in code events
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about care plans in a clear, respectful way
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record and communicate handoffs effectively

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (able to practice in Hawaii or eligible for licensure)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Prior ICU or critical care nursing experience (experience level to be discussed during screening)
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and advanced monitoring
• Ventilator management and respiratory care fundamentals
• IV therapy, vasoactive medication administration, and titration
• Familiarity with code response and ACLS protocols
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
• Proficient documentation and charting in an electronic medical record
