Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, recognizing and acting on changes promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and support staff to achieve patient goals
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Hawaii
• Experience or strong interest in medical-surgical nursing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS or other advanced certifications a plus
• Comfort with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Professionalism, flexibility, and dedication to patient-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and adult patient care
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during 12.5-hour shifts
• Teamwork, clear communication, and bedside manner that puts patients at ease
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
