Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies for pediatric patients
• Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and family members to optimize care
• Document treatments, responses, and patient progress clearly and promptly
• Participate in orientation, in-service training, and quality improvement initiatives
• Educate families and caregivers on home respiratory care and equipment use

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT or CRT) in good standing
• State licensure for respiratory care (OH) or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current BLS; ACLS or PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort and experience working with pediatric patients (preferred)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation requirements

Education

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Health Sciences (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and airway management
• Knowledge of pediatric respiratory conditions and therapeutic interventions
• Skilled in patient assessment, arterial blood gas interpretation, and aerosol therapy
• Ability to operate monitors and document in electronic health records
• Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
