Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate hands-on care that promotes comfort and independence
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfer assistance, using proper body mechanics
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents
• Document care provided accurately and follow facility policies and procedures
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered support and positive experiences

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or completion of an approved GNA training program (state-recognized)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with ADLs
• Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively on a team
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic caregiving procedures and infection control practices
• Skillful in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
• Competence with basic resident documentation and reporting
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
