Shift Type: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (onsite day coverage); Monday–Friday evenings/nights, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM (on-call/night coverage); Weekend on-call: Saturday 7:00 AM - Sunday 7:00 AM and Sunday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM — 24-hour on-call coverage including day and night (rotating on-call schedule).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform interventional cardiology procedures including PCI, balloon angioplasty, coronary angiography and heart catheterization with precision and care
• Provide high-quality inpatient management and participate in STEMI/on-call coverage for urgent coronary cases
• Collaborate with the existing interventional cardiology team to ensure continuity of care for complex patients
• Document clinical encounters and procedures thoroughly and efficiently using EPIC
• Evaluate and manage vascular disease patients, including embolic protection, carotid stenting and atherectomy when indicated
• Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families to support informed decision-making
• Adhere to hospital policies and participate in temporary/emergency privileging processes as required

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an Interventional Cardiology fellowship
• Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology/Interventional Cardiology (or equivalent)
• Active or eligible for medical licensure in Virginia (ability to obtain VA license required)
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Proven experience performing PCI, coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty and related interventional procedures
• Comfort and experience with STEMI call and inpatient/onsite call coverage
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR systems
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of Cardiology residency and Interventional Cardiology fellowship

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced interventional cardiology procedural skills (PCI, atherectomy, carotid stenting, embolic protection)
• Strong inpatient cardiology and acute coronary syndrome/STEMI management
• Cath lab workflow, sterile procedures and team leadership in procedural settings
• EPIC documentation and order entry
• Excellent clinical judgment, triage and on-call decision-making
• Effective communication and collaboration with multispecialty teams
