Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Support resident mobility and fall prevention to promote safety and independence
- Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Help create a warm, home-like environment that promotes resident well-being
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or equivalent credential required
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care is a plus
- Ability to pass standard background checks and health screenings
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for senior care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and best practices
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and resident mobility
- Competent in basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Calm, patient communication style for working with seniors and families
