Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents, helping with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility while promoting dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and use of assistive devices to reduce fall risk
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent credential
• Comfort working the evening (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) per diem shifts
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Compassionate bedside manner and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Prior experience with geriatric or long-term care is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living) and mobility support
• Able to take and record vital signs accurately and recognize clinical changes
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Knowledge of basic infection control and patient safety practices
• Comfortable with resident-centered care and dementia-friendly approaches
• Team-oriented with a focus on reliable, compassionate caregiving
