Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy department, ensuring high-quality patient care and staff performance
• Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% clinical caseload) using best-practice OT interventions
• Directly supervise certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians, offering mentorship and performance feedback
• Lead the clinical education and competency program for OT staff, coordinating training and ongoing professional development
• Develop, review, and maintain Occupational Therapy policies and procedures covering scope of care, evaluation/treatment standards, documentation, and discharge planning
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, professional standards, and facility policies
• Oversee documentation quality and discharge planning to support continuity of care and regulatory readiness
• Contribute to program development and administrative tasks (approximately 20% of role) to advance services and outcomes

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (required)
• Currently licensed in the State of California by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance (required)
• Meet additional qualifications recommended by the California Therapy Board and the Rehabilitation Services Department (required)
• Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) preferred
• Experience supervising COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians and leading clinical education/competency initiatives
• Ability to practice in accordance with the State Practice Act
