Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics
- Communicate resident status and care needs clearly to nursing staff and supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies consistently
- Document care and observations in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification / completion of an approved CNA program
- Active CNA credential or state registry as required for Pennsylvania
- Comfortable working the night shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
- Infection control practices and safe work procedures
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Safe lifting and transfer techniques
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively with the care team
