Roles & Responsibilities

• Support CVOR open heart procedures by preparing sterile fields and passing instruments with precision
• Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain impeccable instrumentation and central processing standards
• Float and assist in General Surgery when CVOR case volume is low to ensure smooth OR operations
• Participate in on-call coverage (2-3 days/week) and respond promptly during weekend and holiday rotations
• Perform critical thinking in fast-paced situations to help maintain patient safety and workflow
• Document care and instrumentation handling according to facility policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• CST certification preferred but not required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Open Heart/CVOR experience (required)
• Ability to float to General Surgery and provide on-call coverage
• Strong critical thinking and knowledge of central processing and instrumentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program

• Proficient instrumentation handling and passing techniques
• On-call readiness and ability to triage urgent OR needs
